Welcome...

Another year has passed and once again our Annual General Meeting is upon us. It's that time of year when we can celebrate all of the fantastic work and great adventure our Group been doing over the past year. Scroll down this page to find out more about the exciting time the Group has had, as well as how and who makes the Group works.

How the Group runs

Within a Scout Group, there will be a number of adult leaders, who give their time voluntarily to help the development of young people. The Group is led by the Group Scout Leader, whose job is to co-ordinate the Group’s activities and to ensure continuity and development.

The Group Council

A Group Scout Council meets at least once a year usually for an Annual General Meeting. The Council consists of all the adult Members of the Group, as well as the children’s parents. For more day-to-day matters, the Council has a Group Executive Committee that meets regularly.

Find out more about the Group Scout Council below.

The Group Executive Committee

The Executive Committee consists of the Group Scout Leader, usually the Section Leaders and members elected by the Group Council. The Executive Committee may set up sub-committees to perform particular tasks such as fundraising. We use the term Group Executive Committee, Group Executive, Executive Committee, Board of Trustees and trustees interchangeably. They all mean the same thing.

Meet the Executive

Our Group is supported by a dedicated team of Executive Committee members who steer the Group, providing support for the Group Scout Leader to effective carry out his role, oversee the governance of the Group and manage the finances on behalf of the Group Council.
